The brain is a major driving force in our lives. However, we rarely focus on its enormous power. Also, few of us endeavour to improve its capacity. In his book Train Your Brain For Success, Roger Seip explains how to transform your brain into a machine that works for you. Learn to read Smarter, remember more, and break your records.
I found this book on my sister’s bookshelf a few months ago and couldn’t wait to read it. There is plenty to be said about Roger Seip’s book “Train Your Brain for Success.” Below is a review of the book’s content, delivery, and practical application.
Why should you read “Train Your Brain For Success?”
Content
In terms of content, this is a solid book with two main sections: “Your Learning Foundations” and “The Components of Your Record-Breaking Life.” Each section has subcategories that expound on these main headings. Section one focuses on the following topics: how your brain functions, practical tips to improve your instant recall memory, and steps to expand your smart reading capacity. Section two dives deeper into setting energizing goals, using time, scheduling, etc.
Equally, what I enjoyed most about this book is the progressive nature of the content. It starts with the basics of improving your recall memory – and moves to more complex concepts like goal setting, scheduling, creating a vision board, etc. Reading this book chronologically gave me an appreciation of the content and the author’s thought process.
My only criticism is the repetitive nature of some sections. Reminding readers of previous segments might have been done to link older concepts to new ones. However, for readers who easily recall information and connect ideas, certain areas of the book might feel repetitive.
Delivery
The author did a great job maintaining the readers’ interest by incorporating stories and examples. What I love most about this book is the simplicity of the language used. Some non-fiction books can seem laborious to read due to excess technicality. But Roger Seip shines at enticing his readers with simple vocabulary and an elegant writing style.
Secondly, Train Your Brain for Success has numerous exercises. I think this is a valuable aspect everyone should take advantage of. I found the reading exercise most interesting. Before reading this book, I had never doubted my reading capacity – the training exercise was quite an eye-opening experience.
Also, most chapters contain links to videos on the website that further expound on the ideas discussed. It is a wonderful resource for those who desire to explore more.
Practical Application of Concepts
Reading a self-help book is pointless if you can’t apply the concepts easily. Train Your Brain for Success gives readers easy-to-execute action steps. If you are looking for a practical manual with a remarkable balance between theory and applied concepts, this book is for you. Ideal for people who need to improve their mental capacity and challenge their brains to do more.
Finally, this book is handy if you wish to master your goal setting, time use, and developing healthy mental care. I recommend purchasing a physical or soft copy rather than an audio version to maximize the exercises.
I hope you enjoyed this review. Kindly comment if you would like to read the book, or what you love about it.
